Scott P. Davis, Esq., B.C.S. is a Tampa Board Certified Specialist in Marital Family Law by The Florida Bar. As such, he has received the highest level of recognition by the Florida Bar concerning competency and experience as a marital and family law practitioner. There are more than 95,000 attorneys licensed to practice law in the state of Florida and less than 350 are Board Certified Specialists in Marital and Family Law. Scott received his Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration from The University of Florida and his law degree from the prestigious Southern Methodist University School of Law in Dallas, Texas. He has practiced law in Florida for 18 years. In addition, he is a former state prosecutor and also served as a senior felony trial attorney at the Hillsborough County Public Defender’s Office from 1998 to 2001. During his time, Scott handled over 100 jury trials which gave him significantly more trial experience than most attorneys.
Scott presently limits his practice to Marital and Family Law, specifically complex dissolution of marriage litigation and negotiations, paternity actions, alimony, child support, mediations, parenting and time-sharing issues, custodial determination, asset distribution, spousal support, preparation of prenuptial agreements, litigation experience with domestic violence issues, modification and enforcement of existing court orders. By narrowing the focus of the types of cases he handles, he is able to properly dedicate himself to his clients and the current trends in marital and family law.
Scott is actively involved in the community through his membership in Egypt Shriners and Hillsborough Lodge No. 25, Free and Accepted Masons of Florida. He also volunteers for multiple children’s charities in Hillsborough County. Scott is a former president of the Civic Association of Port Tampa City and the former vice chair of the Interbay Peninsula Partnership.
Scott is licensed to practice law in Florida, the District of Columbia, and the United States Supreme Court. He is also a member of the Florida Bar Marital and Family Law Section.

Additionally, Scott is a business owner, divorced parent, and has three young children. Because of both his professional and personal experience, Scott fully understands the complex emotions involved in divorce, child custody and support, alimony, and equitable distribution matters.
